ProDetailCenters, LLC, was formed in April 2008 by founder Jason Milen to help customers in need of auto detailing find the best local automotive detail center in their area. In addition, it provides an exclusive listing to a surrounding territory to that detail center, which in turn provides an edge for that automotive detail shop over the competition. Their listing is identified by their zip code for specified market targeting, and it includes an area of 15 miles from the center of the zip code(s) that they service.

There are two distinctions of auto detailing: Traditional Detailing and Detail Express. Traditional automotive detailing refers to the type of service where you make an appointment, drop off your vehicle and leave it all day for reconditioning. It will usually include the option for paint reconditioning, where the painted surfaces are 'wheeled out' with a high-speed buffing wheel and a compound. This removes oxidation and minor scratches and swirl marks, if performed correctly. If not performed with care, it can be damaging to the paint. In addition, much time and effort is applied to the interior of the vehicle, cleaning all the areas, including the difficult to reach nooks and crannies.

Detail Express is classified as a "while-you-wait" service, and generally takes about 30 minutes per service and is generally less thorough than traditional detailing, but for the time and price, a great value. Most express detail centers offer the following services, with a variation of the names: Hand Wax/Fast Wax, Carpet Shampoo, Interior SuperClean, seat cleaning/shampooing, and leather seat treatment/conditioning. For the wax, some providers offer choices of different products; generally, these products differ in the duration of the protection they provide.
